چکیده

Abstract Introduction fluoride toothpaste is widely used by the population. Objective dentifrices with a high concentration of sodium and presence tricalcium phosphate were developed, providing additional protection to patients vulnerable development caries. This study aimed evaluate influence different on surface internal hardness enamel wear after artificial caries, pH cycling, toothbrushing. Material method blocks (4x4 mm) obtained from 20 bovine teeth. The specimens submitted caries lesion then cycling brushing according dentifrice: Colgate Total 12 Clinpro + Tricalcium Phosphate. Result this period, they analysis superficial profilometry. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was performed. data evaluated one-way Analysis Variance (ANOVA) mineral recovery profilometry, two-way repeated measures ANOVA hardness. Conclusion analyzing hardness, induction, there significant reduction in that partially recovered regardless dentifrice used. For lower values control side up 90 micrometers test side. As for showed greater when compared Clinpro. It concluded promoted however, resulted tooth enamel.

Effect of low fluoride acidic dentifrices on dental remineralization.

This study evaluated the capacity of fluoride acidic dentifrices (pH 4.5) to promote enamel remineralization using a pH cycling model, comparing them with a standard dentifrice (1,100 µgF/g). Enamel blocks had their surface polished and surface hardness determined (SH). Next, they were submitted to subsurface enamel demineralization and to post-demineralization surface hardness analysis. The bl...

Effect of rinsing with mouthwashes after brushing with a fluoridated toothpaste on salivary fluoride concentration.

The aim of the study was to determine whether rinsing with a mouthwash after brushing with a fluoridated toothpaste affected oral fluoride (F) retention and clearance compared with an oral hygiene regime without mouthwash. In this supervised, single-blind study, 3 regimes were compared: (A) brushing for 1 min with 1 g of 1,450 microg F/g NaF toothpaste followed by rinsing for 5 s with 10 ml wat...

Caries prevention with fluoride toothpaste in children: an update.

AIM The aim was to examine recent literature and review the caries-preventive effect of fluoride toothpaste in children. METHODS Based on three comprehensive systematic reviews published in 2003, a broad search of the PubMed and Cochrane library databases was conducted for papers published 2002-2008 using "fluoride toothpaste", "fluoride dentifrice" and "fluoride dental cream" as index terms....

Effect of a xylitol and fluoride containing toothpaste on the remineralization of human enamel in vitro.

The aim of this study was to examine the effect of a fluoride and xylitol containing toothpaste on the remineralization of human enamel using Quantitative Light-induced Fluorescence (QLF). Human extracted teeth were cut longitudinally into three or four parts, and artificial subsurface lesion windows (2 mm x 3 mm) were created by immersion in demineralizing solution. Each enamel sample (n = 7) ...
